Aleister Crowley - (1875-1947). $150 Aleister Crowley has been called the "wickedest" man on earth. He called himself "The Beast 666" after his mother accused him of being the biblical anti-Christ when he was a small child. To some he was a charlatan; to others he was a prophet. One thing is certain... he was a very influential man. In 1904, he and his wife conducted channeling sessions that yielded the Book of The Law. Crowley exposed the world to the most misunderstood and the most provocative law ever laid down, including Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law and love is the law-love under will. His life was an experimental experience lived in decadence, adventure, and persecution. He climbed one of the world's highest mountains, experimented heavily with alcohol and drugs, and lived to an age that betrayed his indulgences. He was a member of nearly all of the secret societies at one point or another and started a few of his own. His name constantly comes up in unlikely and seemingly unrelated areas of discussion. He broke from convention and traveled to areas in his mind that few dare to reach. He weathered the consequences of his experiments with drugs and wrote about them in his book "Diary of a Drug Fiend", a volume that does little to glamorize drug addiction. The most fascinating aspect of Crowley was his eccentricity and his quest for exploration, mastery, and understanding of all things taboo. His life's work focused on opening up the human mind to reveal its content, depth and fabric in its entirety, warts and all. |

Dr. John Dee - Most trusted advisor to Queen Elizabeth I of England $150 Dr. John Dee, a brilliant man who was many things...
alchemist, astrologer, cartographer, master spy, mathematician, navigator
and a prolific writer. As scholarly and accomplished as he was, he never
hesitated to throw a few magical overtones into his teachings. He searched
for the Philosopher's Stone to no avail and claimed he could look into
the future by scrying upon his Angelical Stone. Dr. Dee also came up
with the Enochian language. Some of his "tools" are in the
British Museum. |
